The reason why we asked System I is "proposal ability" and "sense of speed"

G-gen was looking for a partner company with expertise in payment systems to build educational services for its customers. We spoke to Mr.Kakezuka, who was in charge of the project, about why they contacted System I to build their learning service and what they thought of it.

Systemi I offers proposals based on system configuration diagrams and technology selection, which has the advantage of reducing management and communication costs.

-Please tell us why you selected System I as your development partner this time.

Mr.Kakezuka: Thankfully, we have been receiving more inquiries about projects recently, and we have been short of developers. Therefore, we needed to secure personnel from a development partner, so we contacted several companies, but most partners often give us proposals that are specific to personnel, such as "how many people can we propose in what month?" Meanwhile, System I makes proposals starting from system configuration diagrams and technology selection.
This time, they submitted a system proposal, but they narrowed down the requirements and went as far as to propose "this kind of API development is necessary". If they propose to that extent, it will reduce our management and communication costs and make things easier.
The development part we requested was very helpful because we lacked the resources to handle it.

-Apparently they have been placing regular orders with us since 2023.

Mr.Kakezuka: Yes, we have been working with them since July 2023. For most cases, we asked them to provide labor-hour estimates and technical proposals, and since they had a track record, we had a certain degree of trust in them.

It was necessary to accommodate different service flows depending on the status, such as when applying or when continuing the service.

-What kind of development did System I actually undertake?

System I staff: The whole project was to build a certain educational service, but we were in charge of the payment system part of it. Specifically, we incorporated the API of Stripe, a company that provides payment services, into the service, but since it was necessary to support both credit card payments and convenience store payments, we had to devise a way to process payments that suited each business flow.
For example, in the case of invoice payments, the flow is "confirm the invoice amount, create and send the invoice, and confirm the payment," but in the case of credit card payments, the amount is confirmed = the invoice is immediately billed. The most difficult part this time was absorbing the difference in the flow.
In addition, in the case of convenience store payments, the combination of payment status and service provision was complicated. There is a time lag between issuing and mailing the invoice and the user completing the payment. When applying for the first time, the service cannot be used during that time lag. However, for payments from the second time onwards, the service is provided even during the time lag until the invoice payment deadline. In addition, there is a trial period before the first application in which payment is not required.
Originally, Stripe is an overseas service, and there is little documentation on local payment methods such as convenience store payments, so we had to conduct thorough research and combine various parameters through trial and error.

Mr.Kakezuka: I believe that by collaborating with System I, which has a wide range of payment systems to choose from, we were able to provide our customers with speedier service.

I think the strengths of System I are its speed and the ease of being able to "request everything."

-As a development partner, what are some recommended features of System I?

Mr.Kakezuka: I think the best thing about System I is its speed. We have asked them to make proposals for other projects, and they have been working on it since the PoC (*1) stage. For example, when we consult about a data analysis project, they will do technical research and say, "There is an approach like this, isn't there?" I feel that the speed of their proposals is very fast. Also, I think that the fact that we can "request everything" is a big differentiating point from other companies. There are many companies that will make proposals such as "how many people can you bring in?", but as I said earlier, there are not many partner companies that will think together with us from research to proposals. For example, if there is an area where we do not have knowledge or if there is something that we cannot solve internally, we think about consulting System I, and I think that they are a company that is worthy of being a "partner" in the true sense of the word.

-Thank you very much for your valuable talk, Mr.Kakezuka
